OCEAN JOBS
There are some websites that show a range of the ocean-linked jobs on offer. Just like any industry, a range of skills are used in the marine sector, from engineers to teachers, software designers, researchers, accountants, marine biologists, ichthyologists, oceanographers, meteorologists, divers, mechanics, aquaculturists, animal keepers, vets. The list is long. And there are sometimes internship or volunteer opportunities on these sites or on the ocean champions' sites.
SAEON - The South African Environmental Observation Network. An amalgamation of jobs from various institutions in the marine world and tender offers.
SANBI - The South African National Biodiversity Institute. These jobs can be botanical, zoological or marine and span many cities across South Africa.
SANCOR - The South African Network for Coastal and Oceanic Research. It shows vacancies across many disciplines in the marine and coastal environment.
SANAP - The South African National Antarctic Programme. A government-backed programme that sources all kinds of people to help with Antarctic expeditions.
SAPRI - South African Polar Research Infrastructure. Dedicated to research across marine and polar disciplines and needs a broad array of skills.
SANParks - South African National Parks. Sometimes has vacancies to do with the marine and coastal environment. It also has tender offers and RFQs.
SevenSeas - Dedicated to publishing ocean conservation news, resources and opportunities, it puts out a weekly, global conservation jobs list.
Conservation Careers - Lists thousands of conservation jobs from across the globe. For career switchers to all levels of seniority.
